This has inspired me to make a public suggestion/request.
Instead of (or as well as) buying a gift for someone you love this year....write them a letter. I mean heartfelt, hand write...pen, paper, envelope...the whole shabang. The internet has brought us closer in SO MANY ways, but is also facilitating the decline of the really connecting and appreciating the beautiful relationships we have cultivated and even lost touch of over the years. In this project honesty is VERY important. It can be difficult to say things to people that we love, but why not let them know exactly how you feel in writing....something they can keep & touch - a little piece of you.
This is the plan:
- You write letter(s)
- Photocopy (you can hide who it's from/to if you'd like to remain anonymous) your letter(s)
- Send copy of letter(s) to me - include a large self-addressed, postage-paid envelope!!
- I will make a compilation of selected letters and mail back to everyone.
I will set up a P.O. Box soon.
Just wanted to get you all thinking....and perhaps writing.
Tell everyone. This will be lovely.
